Little Space Cheats Domain Name

As anyone who stills reads this blog will know, Space Heroes Universe officially shut down at the start of this year, 2015. Myself and the other authors of Little Space Cheats did decide to keep this blog running even after the closure so you can look back at what Space Heroes Universe was like, and the history of the game... but since this blog no longer has active content and therefore can not be sustained, the LittleSpaceCheats.com domain is going to expire in 26 days from now (so on the 14/10/2015) and will be not be reactivated. Therefore the new domain name will be LittleSpaceCheats.blogspot.com.

Thank you once again to all of the supporters of Little Space Cheats, without you this blog would never have been what it was. Your support meant so much to all of the contributors of Little Space Cheats.

Interview with SHU Founder Phil Mason

Phil Mason, also known as "Alienphil" was the founder of Space Heroes Universe which he started back in July 2010. As the founder it seems fitting we have a final interview with him after this wonderful game has closed.

1. What happened to Space Heroes?

Basically the number of kids playing dropped to the point that the world was becoming too expensive to run, without the support of paid memberships. Generally this was because of the rapid rise of mobile gaming as a preferred platform and lack of flash support – meaning we couldn’t easily move to mobile. In the end, we had to make the tough decision to close the world, which we all really loved.

2. What was your favorite memories of Space Heroes Universe?

We’ll I think the team all have different memories, but I especially liked the parties, and just walking around and seeing everyone have fun. My favourite spot on the homeworld was the Bubble Blaster park and the Starstruck theatre – loved the band game and seeing the heroes performing. I also really liked eating pizza. Of course I also really loved blasting into space in my Starjet and battling the Nauts!

3. What feature did you like the most in Space Heroes Universe?

All the community features, anything that made it fun for kids to hang and play together. I also liked all the personalisation options, super fun to dress up your hero and create a persona. My all-time favourite through were the Glows and Pets… they were the best!

4. What inspired you to create Space Heroes Universe?

We wanted to create a story driven MMO for kids to explore and hang, and the idea of it being in space really was appealing given the endless themes and possibilities for locations and creatures.

5. What will you miss the most about working on Space Heroes Universe?

The fans.

6. Do you plan on releasing any new games?

We have released a bunch of mobile games, as the company has moved from flash MMO to mobile. These include Jetpack Jinx, Cake Bake Blitz, most recently All Stars Tennis in the App Store, Google Play and Amazon.

Bubblegum are just about to release an endless skateboarding game based on the cartoon Wild Grinders… with awesome action, and cool slow-mo and camera zooms

And the team are working on an epic CCG/hack and slash hybrid, call Neo Tokyo League of Samurai.

After that, I’m not sure what we’ll do… the team are currently working up new game ideas!

7. If you were to start again on Space Heroes, what would you do differently? 

Build it faster… we kinda missed the market by 12 months.

8. Do you have any idols?

My dogs… they are an inspiration, always so happy and selfless… bundles of fun!

9. Do you have anything else to add?

I can really say that myself and the team really appreciated all the love from the fans and our star players and bloggers. We always made a point of checking out your articles, videos and parties and it was really inspiring for us. We all wish you guys the best in your futures, you’re all super cool and awesome!

Justice Girl's SHU Birthday Party!

As many of you know, Justice Girl held a huge party on Space Heroes Universe celebrating her birthday! I was lucky enough to make it, and get a chance to meet a few of you, and have a sweet SHU party!

The party went in stages, here are some pictures of what went down if you weren't lucky enough to come!

First we all met up, and spam gifted Justice Girl to celebrate her birthday.

Next we went and had a sweet musical party in starstruck!

After all that partying, we went to the VIP Club to get some food in us!

(P.S, thanks for everyone serving me!)

 After we were all topped up and refreshed, we did what any SHU party person would do... party some more! Busting some moves on the dance floor.

Foolishly, Lillia then challenged me to a Battle Ball showdown, and well... just look at the score!

And what party would be complete without looking for Lord Shadowbot?

We explored the depths of the homeworld in search of the disastrous villain!

Space Heroes Universe back Running Smoothly

Just wanted to make a quick post letting you know that Space Heroes Universe is back running smoothly again! I know for a few people there was loading issues, but from what I've heard (and my person experience) everything is running perfect now as usual. 

On another note, there was talk about canceling your membership. I highly recommend you don't, unless Space Heroes Universe actually shuts down for good. Small problems like loading time issues will be fixed so quickly it wouldn't even be worth it.

Galactic Sports Party!

There's a new party going on in Space Heroes Universe! Just like last year, this year the Galactic Sports Party returns... filled with all of its sporty goodness! I am quite surprised how instantly this was added though, as there was no indication this party was coming.

The homeworld (mostly the Plaza and the Coast) are filled with Galactic Sports Party decorations, so make sure to make the most of them!

This party is slightly weird, as some things haven't been updated, such as the Galactic Times... which still features the Deep Dive Party from last month. You can't even buy Sporty clothes at the hero mart like you could last year!

I have no idea on how long this years Galactic Sports Party will last, so make sure you get the most out of it and enjoy it while you can! What do you think of the Galactic Sports Party? Tell us in the comments below!

Login Glitch Fixed

You heard right! The Space Heroes Universe login glitch is finally fixed. For those of you who didn't know what the glitch was, it basically allowed you to log in to any SHU account you wanted, as long as you knew the username. After contacting the moderators the glitch was fixed, and hopefully the heroes accounts that were hacked and banned (Such as Superkid and Justice Girl) get returned back to normal.

Did you get hacked? I know there was some people messing about on my hero!

New Parent Email

Space Heroes Universe has sent out a parent email, advertising the new Space Heroes Trading cards! Here's a screenshot of what the email looks like if you haven't seen it already.

Just a reminder, if you live in Australia, you can purchase these cards at your local news agent. In other news I see the Bubble Bunny party has returned! It's time to track down that Bunny! (Perhaps if we all go on the SHU Chat http://www.littlespacecheats.com/p/chat.html we can track it down together!)

Merchandise and Mobile Game Details!

I have been speaking with a Space Heroes Moderator and I have some new information to share with you! They talked about how the upcoming merchandise will link with the game, eg the upcoming Trading Cards having a code card where you can redeem new Space Heroes Universe items!

They also talked about a new Mobile game being released soon from Bubble Gum Interactive (the company behind Space Heroes). This game would be a puzzle based game.

I guess 2014 is going to be an exciting year!

The Christmas Party is Over

The 2013-2014 Christmas Party has come to an end, and the Space Heroes Universe website is back to normal! I'm excited to think of what there is to come for SHU this year, 2013 was such a fun filled year I really don't know what to expect for 2014.

SHU Trading Cards!

Space Heroes Universe trading cards you say?! Awesome!

Bubble Gum Interactive (the makers of SHU) have released a post saying that Space Heroes Universe trading cards are to be released in January 2014. "...in every pack will be a special code card gamers can use to redeem 30 limited edition virtual items to collect and play in-game" and I thought SHU couldn't get any better! There will be over 100 cards to collect, with some cards being rarer than others.

I'll try and get my hands on these cards as soon as they come out so I can show you guys!

The SHU team have added in a little banner promoting Puffin Browser, which is an app you can download on any iOS or Android device to be able to play Space Heroes. Meaning you can play Space Heroes on your iPhone... Tablet... and Smart phone!

Big news everybody! The second episode of the Space Heroes Universe cartoon has been released! With their first episode being such a success, I can only imagine that the second episode, Rumble in the Jungle will do the same!
