Space Heroes Interview: Xander!

Lol here, with another Interview with a space heroes universe staff member! This time, it is with the Director of Community, Paul. You may know him from his hero Xander.

1. Who are you, and how long have you been working for Space Heroes?
I've been working at Bubble Gum Interactive from day one! I really love storytelling in all its forms, and I'm often told I have a vivid imagination. I think imagination is a powerful thing and I really enjoy working for the Space Heroes team, helping to make our stories bigger and better for our fans around the world!

2. What do you do at Space Heroes Universe? I wear a lot of hats, but most of what I do is make sure that our fans really enjoy the game - that's a mix of making sure it's fun, full of adventure and excitement, but also working very hard to ensure the game is safe and inclusive for everyone. I'm always listening to our fan community too - their ideas are a great inspiration for me!

3. What made you want to become a Director of Community for Space Heroes Universe? I like listening to people, so it makes sense for me to work with our community. I also really enjoy talking! And I love telling new people around the world, in different ways just why Space Heroes Universe is THE best virtual world for kids! ;-)

4. What is your favourite thing about your job? Without a doubt it's seeing an idea spark, perhaps from one of our team, or from a fan and help take that idea through design, development and then see it go into the Space Heroes kids virtual world AND see the fans really get into it and enjoy it. The Halloween Party was great fun - I really liked jumping in game (My fave costume was the Zombie costume) and hanging out with players enjoying all the frightful fun!

5. If you could change one thing about the game, what would it be and why? There's not just one thing, there are lots of things. But that's the best part of making a kids virtual world. It never stops evolving and changing. We're always adding in new features. Just recently we gave players a camera and are seeing loads of awesome in-game snaps. One thing I can reveal that I'm really excited about is all the cool new virtual pet Kritterz that will be coming soon! Not soon enough for me! :-)

6. Do you have any idols? I find inspiration in many places, but draw most of my inspiration from my family and friends.

7. Do you have a favourite Space Heroes blog? It's hard to choose just one favourite blog! There are so many amazing Space Heroes bloggers. I also really like the VLOGGERS - the fans that like making videos. I think the best thing about the blogger community is how much they work together, sharing news and updates but also helping new players get started in Space Heroes!

8. What are your favourite aspects of Space Heroes? For me it's the story, the tales of Ace, Kira, Professor Q and of course the many space heroes from around the world. There is literally a galaxy to explore with loads of planets, wormholes and other exciting places to discover. Over time, more of our story will fold into the game and we'll also see the fans make their own stories - tales, artworks, videos and more. That's the best for me!

9. What do you think the future of Space Heroes will look like? We've got so many exciting plans for the Space Heroes virtual world, and the story is going to be told in even more ways. We've just launched Jetpack Jinx, our Space Heroes mobile game and we're looking at Space Heroes toys and other goodies!!

10. What would you recommend for people to do, to get into the job position you are in? Whether it's a job like mine, or any job that you really want, there are some very important steps you'll need to take to get there. Make sure you understand the skills and talents needed to do the job, and then go about getting those skills and talents. Any meaningful goal in life requires hard work - so be ready to work REALLY hard. Most of all, you need to believe in yourself.
